Vaginal Dilation Program and PURE Program

Pediatric Urogenital Reproductive Endocrine Disorders Program

The PURE Program is a state-of-the-art program for pediatric patients who have disorders of sexual development (DSD). Our highly specialized multidisciplinary team comprises experts in the following pediatric specialties: endocrinology, surgery, gynecology, urology, genetics, and psychiatry. The medical specialists work alongside a licensed social worker to address the distinctive medical, surgical, psychological, and social needs of our patients and their families. The PURE team initiates medical care in the neonatal period or at the time of initial diagnosis and continues through puberty, adolescence, and adulthood. Pubertal development, sexual functioning, fertility, and reproduction are all addressed. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, efficient, long-term care in a nurturing environment for these unique patients and their families. We are able to provide world-class consolation and research protocols, the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, and continuity of care—all within the framework of one of the largest health care systems in the country.
